The Unofficial Soup Kitchen has been around in many incarnations since 1993. Starting as a weekly open mic performance venue in Chicago, it has gone on to become a bar, a poetry jamboree and traveling minstrel show, a small press publishing concern, a guerrilla community advocacy outfit, and now, a sprawling web site with an emphasis on being an inclusive venue for artists of all disciplines and a community, both virtual and embodied, where diversity and tolerance thrive.

We hope you
enjoy your visit.

Sincerely,

The USK Production Team
